This fall, Houstonians are invited to put on their boots and brunch best for one of the city’s most beloved LGBTQ+ fundraisers—Miss Angela’s Country Brunch, hosted by The Diana Foundation on Sunday, November 2, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the historic Lott Hall in Hermann Park.

Set against the elegant backdrop of Lott Hall, originally built in 1933 as a clubhouse for Hermann Park golfers, this year’s brunch will offer guests a festive and nostalgic setting steeped in Houston history. The recently renovated venue features vintage charm, soaring ceilings, and picturesque views of the surrounding parkland, making it an ideal location for the Foundation’s signature country-themed celebration.

This year’s event is chaired by Tom Grass and organized by the dedicated Country Brunch Committee, who have created a heartfelt, high-spirited gathering with a purpose. From live country music to spirited community fellowship, the event brings people together in a meaningful way—and this year, the cause is more urgent than ever.

At the heart of the brunch are two life-changing beneficiaries:

Guests will enjoy a lively performance by The StringBenders, one of Houston’s most dynamic country and roots rock bands. Known for their rich fiddle sound and infectious energy, the group will provide the perfect soundtrack for a Sunday afternoon of fun, dancing, and celebration.

“This event is more than just brunch—it’s about showing up for our community in the moments that matter most,” said Tanner Williams, President of The Diana Foundation. “We’re coming together in a space full of history to build a future where LGBTQ+ youth are safe, supported, and given every opportunity to succeed. We can’t wait to welcome our guests to Lott Hall for what promises to be our most powerful and joyful Country Brunch yet.”

The event includes an open bar, savory barbecue, and the kind of warm, inclusive spirit that The Diana Foundation has been known for since its founding in 1953.

General ($95 per person) and VIP tickets ($175 per person) are available now, with VIP attendees receiving added perks like reserved seating and exclusive amenities. Guests are also encouraged to support the event as underwriters, with a range of contribution levels available online at givebutter.com/blueribboncb25. Tickets can be purchased at thedianafoundation.gay/events/cb25.

The event is named Miss Angela’s Country Brunch in honor of The Diana Foundation’s first president, Charles Hebert, who famously appeared in drag at the annual Diana Awards as Miss Angela Lynnesbury. In 1963, Hebert created the original version of this event—a private summer gathering called the Dog Days of Summer Country Supper, where friends joined forces to create over-the-top themed meals and food committees, building a spirit of fellowship and humor that became a cornerstone of Diana culture.

Following Hebert’s passing in 1987, The Diana Foundation adopted the event as an annual fundraiser, later renaming it Miss Angela’s Country Dinner in his memory. As the event evolved into a daytime format, the name was updated to Miss Angela’s Country Brunch, carrying on the tradition of joyful giving and honoring a legacy of creative community-building.

Don't miss your chance to be part of this Houston tradition.
